The QSA 200 is a multi purpose package suited to a multitude of audio and production applications. The QSA 200 contains a number of features not generally seen on compact self powered systems, making for a flexible package for compact fold-back, front of house, DJ mix monitor and distributed installation.
The QSA 200 is a chain with no weak links
The designers at Quest Engineering take no short cuts when it comes to maximizing performance and reliability. As a chain is only as strong as the weakest link, so a loudspeaker system is only as good as the components. All the primary speaker drivers are designed and manufactured to Quest's specifications. There are no compromise ‘off the shelf' bits and the result is a package where every element is ideally matched to give maximum results for its class.
Custom designed components give better results
A long coil, roll surround bass driver provides stunning low frequency response for its small size. A hefty magnet structure and high temperature coil mean the high excursion cone is powered with a big motor. It adds up to more bass for longer.
Most small enclosures utilise low cost tweeters for high frequency propagation but the QSA 200 employs a high powered high frequency driver that you would normally expect to see in larger format professional sound reinforcement enclosure. This driver is coupled to a wave guide horn flare that can be rotated though 90 degrees, making the QSA 200 ideal for both vertical and horizontal installation. This unique feature adds tremendous flexibility to the variety of installation applications to which the QSA 200 can be applied.
Multi Function In/Out Stage
XLR Microphone/Line level inputs are accessed through a recessed switch complete with coloured status LED indicators. Line input is calibrated to + 4 dB and basic EQ adjustments can be made through individual bass and treble controls. You can drive the QSA 200 from a mixer or by directly plugging in a microphone. The recessed Mic/Line switch prevents accidental tampering and unwanted sudden gain change.
The uniform frequency response of the QSA 200 means that external equalization is only required to match the system to the room environment, thanks to extensive simulation modelling at the design stage. This means standard vocal microphone will give excellent results with high intelligibility without the need for sophisticated equalization or extra equipment making the QSA 200 ideal for that quick set up where time is at a premium.
Ideal power to weight ratio
Amplification is a self limiting 180 watts bi-amp A+B system backed up by thermal and DC protection. Professional Bi-amplification provides extra headroom of processor controlled power over long durations.
Sonic fidelity in the studio class
There are not many public address speaker systems with the sonic transparency and fidelity good enough to be used as reference monitors. Thanks to custom designed speaker components, wave guide high frequency top end dispersion control and superior on board electronics, the QSA 200 lends itself to a very wide variety of applications where a very compact self contained speaker system is required.
Accessories for every occasion
The multi purpose WBFS-8 bracket can be employed as a wall bracket, horizontal fold-back monitor stand or even attach a hook clamp and hang it on a lighting truss for mobile flown applications. The Steel TB Straps and the 2mm steel grill can be added for extra strength and impact protection for the hard road of rental companies.
For pole mounting the PM-8 can be fitted to the base of the QSA 200 for efficient and safe 36mm speaker stand mounting.
